SHASH YOUTH AMBASSADORS

Kadejah Anderson is a model, pageant contestant, marketing executive, and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. She was crowned Miss Global Jamaica 2016 and founded two mentorship programs: Being Kandid and CIS (Creative Interaction for Socialization). Kadejah is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences at the University of the West Indies.

Brithney Clarke is a pageant contestant, student, and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. Her core competencies include communications and strategic planning. In 2017, Brithney was named Miss UWI Mona, and in 2016, she was named Miss Preston Hall. She won the title at the Miss Immaculate 2015 Pageant, where she was also awarded Most Congenial and Most Poised. Brithney is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communications at the University of the West Indies’ Caribbean Institution of Media and Communication.

Fabrizio Darby is the President of Emerging Global Leaders Jamaica, Ardenne High School and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. His core competencies include mentorship and student governance. Fabrizio is a lower-sixth form student of the Ardenne High School with nine (9) CXC CSEC Grade Ones and a Distinction (Grade Two) in CAPE Pure Mathematics Unit 1, which he did a year earlier than is standard.

Antonette Dennis is a student and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. Her core competencies include communications and teaching. For the past three years, Antonette has been an active member of the National Secondary Students’ Council.  She is focused on academic success, and has a drive to help those in need. Antonette is a student at the Bishop Gibson High School for girls. In the future, she plans to study law.

Shaquielle is a Biomedical Analyst at Broad Haven Associates, student and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. His core competencies include project management and communications. Shaquielle entered The University of the West Indies as the top of his matriculating class of over 4000 students in the academic year 2014/15 – The Top Matriculant. Consequently, he was awarded the most prestigious scholarship at UWI – The UWI Open Scholarship. He served as a board member and senior responder for UWI Student Emergency Response Team, the largest student-run emergency response team in the Caribbean. Shaquielle is pursuing his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with additional studies in medical physics and engineering at University of the West Indies, Mona.

Keenan Falconer is a student, volunteer, and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. His core competencies include research, media strategy, and communications. He is the Country Coordinator for Jamaica and the Bahamas on the Caribbean and Americas Committee of the Commonwealth Youth Council, the Community Initiatives and Outreach Coordinator of the CARICOM Youth Ambassadors Committee for Jamaica, and a member of the National Youth Advisory Council of Jamaica. Keenan is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Economics Banking and Finance at the University of the West Indies, Mona.

Romari Frith is an Economics student, Youth Leader and Shashamane Sunrise Volunteer. His core competencies include public speaking and social media strategy. He is a youth advocate for the National Integrity Action (NIA), External Affairs Chairperson of Chancellor Hall, Director of Communications and Public Relations for the Integrity Action Movement (Youth NIA), Panelist for TVJ’s Talk up Yout, and the Director of Public Relations for Ignite Initiative. Romari is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Banking and Financial Management with a minor in Economics at University of the West Indies.

Chantelle Gray is a medical laboratory technician, model and beauty queen. She currently serves as Miss Legacy Jamaica 2017 and a Shashamane Youth Ambassador. Her core competencies include medical technology and office administration. Chantelle is 2nd runner up in the 2017 Miss St. Ann Festival Queen Competition. Through this achievement, she works with the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission, organizers of the Miss Festival Queen Competition, to educate persons about and represent the culture of St. Ann, as well as emphasize its contribution to Jamaican culture.

Stacy Ann Nelson is a model, pageant contestant, dancer, and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. Her core competencies include social media marketing and branding. Stacy holds the title of Miss Legacy Jamaica 2016, representing her country in the Miss Legacy International competition in May 2017. Stacy holds seven CXC O-Levels, as well as certificates in Hospitality and Customer Service Level 1. She is enrolled at the Edna Manley School of Visual and Performing Arts.

Tricelle Powell is a model, pageant contestant, student, and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. Her core competencies include communications and branding. In 2016, Tricelle was awarded the Grand Champion Female Model of the World at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood, California. She won the Runway Star award at Miss Universe Jamaica 2015, where she was a finalist. Tricelle is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communication at the University of the West Indies.

Leneka Rhoden is a Youth Ambassador of the Shashamane Sunrise Foundation. She has championed the causes of personal empowerment and inspiration. As a young activist and philanthropist, Leneka is passionate about the nurturing of young people. She is the Host of the New Year’s Resolution Competition which started in 2014. The competition scoped over 10,000 engagements on Social Media and has captured the interest of major corporate sponsors. She also initiated the CAPE and CSEC Study Sessions Spectacular for High School Students across the country of Jamaica and has impacted the academic success of over 500 students since its start in 2015.  She is also an Ambassador of the Governor-General’s I Believe Initiative, the Founding Director of Be Invigorated., as well as Founder and President of La Clique Des Chics. Leneka is a recipient of the Governor-General’s Youth Award for Excellence in recognition of outstanding leadership and achievement.

Rodain Richardson is the founder of Jamaica Youth Motivators, a Shashamane Youth Ambassador, Ambassador of the Governor-General’s I Believe Initiative, and member of the National Youth Parliament of Jamaica. His core competencies include public speaking and customer relations. Rodain is reigning Mr. Teen United Nations 2017, a position which has seen him lead several philanthropic engagements with youth across Jamaica. He is a student in his final year at Ardenne High School is a prospective law student who will matriculate in the Fall of 2018.

Phelisa Ricketts is an educator in training and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. She is President of the Students’ Council at the Church Teachers College and a member of the National Youth Parliament of Jamaica. Her core competencies include public speaking and teaching. Phelisa is the President of Church Teachers’ College Students’ Council and first-runner up in the Miss Trelawny Festival Queen Competition.  She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Science with emphasis in Chemistry.

Drezel-Deidra Sharmila Simmonds is a prospective actuary and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. Her core competencies include modeling and peer counseling. Drezel currently wears the crown of Miss Social Sciences at The University of the West Indies, Mona. Drezel is a student at The University of the West Indies, Mona pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance and Economics (double major).

Shanique is a prospective medical student, pageant contestant, and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. Her core competencies include communications and outreach. Last year, Shanique was named Miss Asia Pacific Jamaica 2016. She has competed in several pageants, including Miss Jamaica World Middlesex, in which she placed first runner-up, Miss Jamaica World, in which she placed third runner-up, and Miss Divali Nagar, in which she placed second runner-up. Shanique is a graduate of Ardenne High School and intends to begin medical school at University of the West Indies next year.

Christina Williams is a pageant contestant, student, and Shashamane Sunrise Youth Ambassador. Her core competencies include project management and communications. She holds of the title of Miss Teen Jamaica 2016, and she serves as the health minister for the Youth Parliament of Jamaica. Christina is completing her degree in International Relations at the University of the West Indies.

His Worship the Youth Mayor of Kingston & St. Andrew Mr. Tristan Williams, 21, is an International Sustainable Youth Public Policy Consultant and a Shashamane Sunrise Volunteer. He lives in Kingston, Jamaica. He is the Chief Youth Advisor to The Office of the Mayor who throughout his career have consulted on projects valued upward of USD$5M directed towards youth development, advocacy and self-advancement opportunities. He is currently pursuing his BSc in Economics and Banking and Finance as a double major at the University of the West Indies.
