Shaquielle Dias is a Youth Ambassador of Shashamane Sunrise. He is a medical and physics student at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona. He is also a Student Assistant in the Office of Student Services and Development at UWI, Mona. Shaquielle operates as a private mathematics tutor for students from ages 11 to 17 years. Shaquielle has been featured on national television and radio due to his acumen for mathematics. Shaquielle entered the UWI as the top of his matriculating class of over 4000 students in the academic year 2014/15 – The Top Matriculant. Consequently, he was awarded the most prestigious scholarship at UWI – The UWI Open Scholarship. Shaquielle is a board member and senior responder in the largest student run emergency response teams in the Caribbean – UWI Student Emergency Response Team. He also holds several leadership positions in his Hall of Residence, Irvine Hall and sits on student advisory committees. Shaquielle Dias is pursuing his medical degree as well as a medical physics minor.
Soyini Phillips is a model, TV media personality, and Miss Teen Jamaica 2013. Soyini hosts her own show, “Entertainment Squeeze”, on RETV, the music TV station that is part of the RJR Communications, the largest media conglomerate in the Caribbean Region. Soyini has competed in several beauty pageants and she holds the following titles: Miss Bishop Gibson 2012, Miss Teen Jamaica 2013, Miss Universe Jamaica Central 2014, Miss Jamzone Jamaica 2015, and Miss Teen Continent Jamaica 2015. She is also a finalist in the Miss Jamaica World 2016 and was 2nd runner up in the Miss Jamaica Central 2016 pageant. Soyini is an avid lover of children which is why she has volunteered with over thirty different charities, including US-based education non-profit Shashamane Sunrise where she serves as a Youth Ambassador. She has also been actively involved in the Jamaican society as a Peace for Champs Ambassador. Soyini is a student at the University College of the Caribbean where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
Leneka Rhoden is a Youth Ambassador of the Shashamane Sunrise Foundation. She has championed the causes of personal empowerment and inspiration. As a young activist and philanthropist, Leneka is passionate about the nurturing of young people. She is the Host of the New Year’s Resolution Competition which started in 2014. The competition scoped over 10,000 engagements on Social Media and has captured the interest of major corporate sponsors. She also initiated the CAPE and CSEC Study Sessions Spectacular for High School Students across the country of Jamaica and has impacted the academic success of over 500 students since its start in 2015. She is also an Ambassador of the Governor-General’s I Believe Initiative, the Founding Director of Be Invigorated., as well as Founder and President of La Clique Des Chics. Leneka is a recipient of the Governor-General’s Youth Award for Excellence in recognition of outstanding leadership and achievement.
